Wood floors... The only floors that leave you with "the footprints of a lifetime."
Plank - Choose from 3"or 5" widths and 3/8", ½", or 9/16" thickness in random lengths up to 42". Engineered plank floors 3/8" thick and up may be floated, glued, nailed down or stapled down above, on or below ground level over an OSB board, plywood or concrete subfloor. Once installed, the single board surface width gives the appearance of a solid wood floor. In a corner of our mind there is a place where no one goes, where times past are re-lived... Times when remembered give us warm fuzzy feelings and, perhaps bring a tear to our eyes as we long to recapture the fountain of our youth.  Perhaps this is why we seek the beauty of  Wood Flooring.  Like grandmother’s oak sideboard, wood floors, just by their nature, become close-to-the-heart and more and more valuable as time goes by.

Solid - Tarkett's solid wood floors live up to their name. They are precisely milled from a single piece of wood and cut 3/8"or ¾"thick in random lengths up to 7'. Widths of 2-1/4"and 3-1/4"are available in a variety of species and pre-finished colors. Solid floors must be nailed down on or above ground level over OSB board or plywood subfloor. Wood flooring introduces a definite stature and an undeniable charm to any room. Trends fade and fashion changes, but at Cogdill, we help you create design that goes beyond extraordinary. Wood floors transcend time. They hang in there through puppet shows, parties, wrestling matches and muddy feet. They become part of the family, and of the home, the way no other flooring surface ever could.  An elegant and enduring statement of beauty that transcends time.  At Cogdill, we help you define your own personal style of decorating so you can  bask in the admiration of friends and family who see the results. Because of its renewability, hardwood flooring can actually cost a lot less than other types of flooring.

Longstrip - Featuring all the benefits of engineered plank flooring plus even more installation versatility, the standard 7-1/2" width by 9/16" thickness by 8' length makes this multi-ply floor a popular choice. Float, glue or staple down over almost any sound, flat and dry subfloor above, on or below ground level. Generous single board surface widths are particularly suited to large, open spaces, while triple board surface widths complement any decor. Unless it is hardwood, you are generally left with one option when flooring gets worn: you replace it. With hardwood, you have three options. We show you  timeless styles that unite the best elements of design, quality and durability.  Hardwood flooring has stood witness to the history of this country – as part of our colonial past; as an early flooring choice for churches and courthouses; as a core part of homes in the mountains, in the desert, by the sea and in lofts and apartments with big city addresses. This same craftsmanship can now be blended with the advances of modern technology to achieve flooring that’s beautiful yet easy to install and maintain. You get the best of both worlds.

Smoke and Mirrors.....
Advertising that offers free pad or free labor with any purchase of carpet is enticing. It is like advertising a free bun with the purchase of any hamburger. Nothing is free if you have to make a purchase to get it. Don't be fooled by gimmicks.... Buying because of a gimmick will leave you with a sour taste that will ruin your enjoyment.

Turn the Tables On Private Labels....
Carpet dealers spend thousands of dollars to have as many styles and colors in their showroom as possible for your shopping pleasure. You, on the other hand, would like to take their sample to another store to compare price. Retailers aren't stupid, you know. They have a system to prevent you from doing this. It's called the private label. A different product name and color name is given to the product by the retailer. This stops the consumer from finding and comparing prices. Companies that guarantee the lowest price or they will pay the difference plus a percentage sometimes use this method to prevent being shopped.  On any given day, any retailer can meet or beat another retailer's price. You need to look beyond the perceived savings that may be nothing more than smoke and mirrors.

Wait... Look At That Weight!
Is the carpet you purchased on a diet? Many carpets come in three weights. Sometimes these are referred to as good, better and best.  Perhaps you are shown a very heavy piece of carpet, but when the carpet is installed a lighter weight carpet is used. You will never notice the difference and the retailer just picked up some extra profits. Another way to do this would be to show you a heavy carpet at a lower price convincing you it was the same as the competitor showed but at a lower price, then installing the lower weight carpet. You will never know the difference.

Free, Free, Free, Free, Up To 70% Off! Really? No! Not Really Silly!
FREE PAD, FREE LABOR, FREE CREDIT, FREE LUNCH, UP TO 70% OFF!  If you see a retailer advertising in this manner, look out. This is for the most part hype. There are times to offer specials because of special pricing from the manufacturer and these major savings can be passed on to the consumer as a real value. On a day to day basis offering good values and service is an excellent practice.   We have to conclude: "THE CONSUMER PAYS FOR EVERYTHING"

It's Insane! Price is Everything!

This basic misconception is widespread among floor covering dealers. What it fails to recognize is the ability or lack of ability to service the customer after the sale. Even though customer care is high on the list of what retailers feel is an important element of business, for the most part, they only give lip service to this issue. They advertise price and base grade products to pull in prospects. Their internal customer care policies dictate their customer care area basically do nothing more than defend the written sales agreement the customer signed.
